little glowing drops of amber about .75 inch set in sterling silver and come on an 18 inch beaded chain.
The Dark Harvest collection. October is my favorite month of the year by far and it's themes are death, gratitude and connection. The summer fades, the heat wanes and the earth seems to vibrate with a new energy as the veil thins and I feel more connected to the other side. The days are darker, the breeze shakes the leaves and we get to watch our world slowly die. It's a melancholic beauty that I find comfort it. A letting go.
Amber is a fossilized tree resin that is warm to the touch, and extremely light, unlike other stones and fossils. Because of this, it was thought to be alive. It is known as the witches stone and worn by high priestesses to bring healing and energy. It is said that wearing amber brings you sun energy, absorbs toxins and releases them from your body while simultaneously energizing and empowering the wearer. One of the oldest adornments of humans, it also has a connection to death. Any stone that is fossilized is a good stone for connecting with the other side. It can act as a portal because it once had one life, died and now exists in a second form. Oh and yes did I mention it glows warm like.the sun and is truly breathtaking to behold?
I have 6 ready to ship, one of which the stone cracked when setting it so Im selling it discounted. It still looks great and is sturdy, its technically damaged. see pic.
I have 6 made to order spots available as well.
MTO (made to order ) pieces take 2-4 weeks to complete. I tend to get them done pretty quickly, but let me know if you are in a rush because you have an event or are giving a gift etc. I can almost always accommodate a rush order but I appreciate patient customers who let me go at my own pace. That being said I respect your time and money and i try to get these out to you ASAP.
Please keep in mind that all of these pieces are handmade. Not casted, not made by machines. I am an artist I am not Tiffany's. I embrace imperfection, asymmetry, rough texture, little dents, bumps and incidentals. Many of my one of a kind piece cannot be exactly recreated. I craft my pieces to be sturdy, wearable art. That being said, some pieces are more delicate than others. You have to use caution not to damage the pieces by getting parts caught on clothing, dropping them on hard surfaces, etc. Occasionally accidents happen and I will try to fix your piece if something breaks. Luckily this is rare.
If you are the kind of person looking for perfection, please look elsewhere. There are plenty of jewelers making shiny perfect jewelry. I offer a more handmade, natural aesthetic. I offer the very specific thing that I do. I darken my silver with sulfur and I try to keep it mostly black/gray as possible. That being said, over time your piece may lighten. Do not over polish. Silver can get wet but it’s best to remove pieces before swimming, showering and sleeping. Some stones are much stronger than others. Stones like opals, amber and labradorite are quite soft and care should be taken not to scratch them or drop them. Sapphires, rubies, agate etc are much stronger. Do a tiny bit of research to see how hard your stone is and how careful you have to be.
